Art School – New Web Series : A satirical look at art school through the lens of teen drama.
I recently had a chance to work on a new web series called “Art School”, written by Ted Stenson and Directed by Hussein Juma. I was asked to join in as Director of Photography, and am very excited for the next few episodes. The first episode was shot in 2 days over the course of a weekend. The entire crew was great, and I had a blast working with them.
Synopsis: A satirical look at art school through the lens of teen drama.
The editing for the first episode should done by the end of this week. It’s been a struggle to get it down to under 10 minutes. The rough cut was 16 minutes and now after 2 weeks of retooling, we’ve got it down to about 12 minutes. 2 more minutes of fat to trim and then we’re good to go. It’s not going to be easy but in the interest of keeping “Art School” tight, it is going to happen. Hussein is working away on the final touches and I can’t wait to see what he has put together.
We’re currently working at securing a date for the first episode premiere here in Calgary, AB, Canada. It will premiere at Tubby Dog on 17th and the next day it will be on the web. We are hoping the premiere will be at the end of this month. I will keep you all posted on any updates. And watch for some stills to appear shortly!
Here are some stills from the first episode:
